This perennial hibiscus is a variety of rose mallow (Hibiscus moscheutos) called Frisbee.  Colors range from white to pink and red.  All the native hibiscus are worthy garden candidates.  I like Texas Star Hibiscus, Velvet Mallow and the hybrid Southern Belle.  My new favorite, however, is Moy Grande, a colossal cherry red selection from Dr. Moy of Texas.
